The Productivity Sweet Spot ~ Episode 83
The Body-Mind Connection: A New Path to Sustainable Energy in Work

What if your body has been trying to tell you something and you’ve just been too busy to listen?
In this episode, I’m joined by quantum embodiment coach Mia Dins to explore one of the most overlooked foundations of sustainable energy in work: the relationship you have with your own body. If you’ve ever wondered why your productive habits feel exhausting rather than energising, or why boosting focus seems harder the more you push, this conversation is going to land differently for you.
Mia shares how nervous system regulation and body-mind connection are the real root of lasting capacity — not another tool, routine, or strategy. We talk about why high-achieving women in particular are often the most disconnected from their bodies, and how that disconnection quietly chips away at their ability to protect their energy and show up fully in both business and life.
You’ll hear about Mia’s unique quantum embodiment method, which works from the inside out rather than trying to fix or optimise from the outside. We explore what it means to build a genuine relationship with your body, why slowing down is one of the most powerful things you can do for your capacity, and how simple daily practices — like a two-minute morning check-in or a spontaneous dance party — can begin to shift everything.
Mia also guides me through a live mini embodiment session, and what surfaces is both surprising and illuminating — a reminder that our bodies are not machines. They are holding far more than we realise. And they’re always communicating, if we’re willing to slow down long enough to listen.
This episode is for any woman who is tired of overriding herself to keep everything together, and who is ready to explore a more sustainable, body-connected way of working and living.
- What quantum embodiment actually is (in plain language — I asked for that)
- Why high-achieving women are often the most disconnected from their bodies
- How nervous system regulation is the missing piece in sustainable productivity
- Simple daily practices to start reconnecting — no perfect routine required
- What our bodies are really communicating when we feel stuck, exhausted, or tense
“Your body is not a machine. It is your vessel, your powerhouse, and an oracle — it holds all the wisdom you need.”
“When you slow down, you increase your capacity. Just like a muscle needs recovery to grow, your body needs space to build strength.”
“If you’re constantly in doing mode, your body never gets the chance to express itself and really talk.”
“Most things that surface simply need to be seen and acknowledged — then they can move through the body and let go.”
Excerpt
What does it really take to build sustainable energy in work — not through more systems or productive habits, but through your own body? In this episode, Anne Rajoo sits down with quantum embodiment coach Mia Dins to explore the body-mind connection most high-achieving women ignore. Together they unpack why nervous system regulation is the missing foundation of lasting focus and capacity, how to protect your energy by reconnecting with your body’s signals, and why slowing down — far from being weakness — actually expands what you can handle. If burnout recovery, being intentional, and finding a more grounded approach to your entrepreneur mindset resonates with you, this conversation will feel like a turning point.

Mia, welcome to the podcast! I’m excited to have you here. We’re going to talk about something I don’t know a lot about, which makes me really curious — quantum embodiment. Can you give us a description of what that actually means in real life, so that my logical brain can make sense of it?
Mia Dins
Thank you so much for having me — I’m really excited to talk about this.
Quantum embodiment is my own method, developed through my personal experiences and the experiences of the people I work with. At its core, it means going deeper than the physical body — into the energetic layer that is still largely overlooked. There can be unprocessed emotions and experiences stored in your body that you aren’t consciously aware of, and this method helps bring those to the surface, so they can actually be resolved.
Instead of trying to fix something from the outside — another mindset strategy, a workout, a new way of eating — this approach works from the inside out. It’s about learning to trust your own body, your own rhythm, your own unique needs. When you do that, you create so much more capacity for everything in your life.
Anne
That really resonates with me. In my own journey, there came a point where the mindset shifts and productivity tools helped to a degree — but then I hit a ceiling. I discovered conversations about embodiment and energy, and even chakras, which felt very far from my logical brain. I dove in anyway because I’m curious, and it genuinely cracked something open. I realised I was deeply disconnected from my body — someone who would push through any pain without really listening.
So for someone listening who’s thinking, ‘I know I have a body — but what does being disconnected from it even mean?’ — where would you start?
Mia
That’s such a great question. And yes — most people are disconnected from their bodies. Paradoxically, I was too, even though I studied sports science and have been an athlete since the age of three. The more I followed external programmes and systems — this way, that way, only this way — the more I gave my power away and lost connection with myself.
Where to start really depends on the individual. Some people have no awareness of their energy at all — they don’t notice when it’s dropping or when they feel expansive. Some haven’t noticed that going three days without a bowel movement isn’t normal, or that they’ve been carrying pain without registering it.
My recommendation is to begin by taking a moment in the morning — or even just throughout the day — to connect with your body. Take one or two deep breaths and simply ask: how do I feel right now? Start to build a relationship with your body, the way you would with a partner or a close friend. Because if we don’t communicate and build trust, we disconnect. And that disconnection is exactly what leads to the breakdowns so many women experience.
Anne
I love that. And I want to bring the conversation to what the listener is here for — which is productivity. So in practical terms, how does embodiment help someone show up differently in their work? What kinds of outcomes have you seen with the women you work with?
Mia
Our bodies are our vessel for everything we want to do — whether that’s playing with our kids, building a business, or simply enjoying a day at the beach. We know what it feels like when the body breaks down: everything stops. That’s why building a relationship with it isn’t a luxury — it’s strategic.
A lot of people — and I was one of them — have been conditioned to believe that slowing down is weakness, or that it means we’re falling behind. But when you slow down, you actually increase your capacity. It’s exactly like muscle recovery after training: the rest is when the growth happens.
When you connect to your body and work with your own rhythm, you can handle more — not less. When I choose myself first, I move through the day with ease. When I override my own needs and run on empty, everything becomes harder. Then life throws something at you and you have nothing left to meet it with. That cycle is what keeps so many women feeling like business and life are just too hard.
Anne
It’s so true. And I think these conversations matter precisely because we don’t have to reach that breaking point to start making changes. We can create sustainable practices before the body forces the issue. What would you recommend, practically — what does an embodiment practice actually look like?
Mia
Again, it really depends on the person, but there are a few things I’d suggest to almost everyone.
The first is what I mentioned — connecting with your body in the morning. I love appreciating mine: a hug, a quiet acknowledgement, a genuine ‘thank you for everything you do.’ It sounds simple, but think about what it feels like to receive that from someone you love. You feel seen. You want to show up. Your body responds the same way.
And even on days when you wake up tired or carrying some fear or doubt, try talking to your body: ‘I see you. I know you’re tired. I’ve got you.’ Because your body is never working against you — it’s always communicating. Persistent exhaustion isn’t a personal failure; it’s your body flagging that something is out of alignment.
The second thing is keeping any promises you make to your body. If you push through a heavy day and tell yourself, ‘Tomorrow I’ll give you more space’ — keep that promise. If you don’t, the body registers that betrayal, just like it would in any relationship. That erosion of self-trust is something so many women carry without realising it.
And third: move. Whatever form feels right — a walk, some yoga, putting on a favourite song and dancing. It doesn’t have to be a perfect workout. Just start somewhere, because when you move the body, you move the energy.
Anne
That last one made me think of the silly dance parties I have with my boys at the end of the day — YouTube, blasting music, total chaos. I always feel completely different after. I think we need more of those. We haven’t had one in a while!
Mia
Please have one! And I don’t think that came up randomly. It came up because it’s exactly right for you right now. Kids are incredible at being fully present — everything is joy. Be playful. Let it be silly. Nothing needs to be perfect. Your body loves joy. And life can be serious and heavy enough — bring some lightness wherever you can.
Anne
So true. And as adults carrying all these responsibilities, we often lose that lightness. We need to consciously bring it back.
You mentioned earlier that you’d do a little embodiment practice with me — I’d love to do that now. I’ll be your example so listeners can get a feel for what this actually looks like.
Mia
I’d be honoured. Just so people know — when I work with clients, whether online or in person, I energetically connect with the body first. It’s a scanning process: I sense, feel, and notice, and then I bring what surfaces into the conversation. For right now, I’ve already tuned into your energetic field before we started — so let’s just settle into this moment. Take a deep breath if you’d like.
The first thing that’s coming through is something around your shoulders — particularly the left. Do you carry tension there?
Anne
Not at the moment, though I do feel it there when I’ve been working long hours at the computer. Not today though.
Mia
Interesting. Was there ever an injury to the left shoulder?
Anne
Not that I know of.
Mia
Okay. Moving down the spine — I’m getting quite a lot of pressure in the lower back. How is that area for you?
Anne
The lower back does give me trouble sometimes. Actually, it’s been sore recently — I did a two-hour in-person workshop yesterday, standing the whole time, and I could really feel it afterwards.
Mia
Yes. And alongside that, I’m getting a sense of a kind of energetic ‘holding’ — like you are carrying the responsibility of keeping everything together. There’s a sense of needing more support, though you may not be consciously aware of it.
Anne
You’re not wrong. Before we recorded I mentioned it’s been quite intense lately — a lot of good things happening in the business, which is exciting, but it means the workload has really increased. And then there’s the family side of things. Getting the support I’d like at home isn’t always straightforward — my husband and I see some things differently, and I don’t always have the backup I wish I had. Add to that preparing for something new like an in-person workshop, which I haven’t done in a while, and wanting to do it really well — yes, there’s definitely some pressure I’m carrying.
Mia
That’s exactly what I’m feeling — a lot of tension and pressure, a kind of holding-on, like tightly held muscles that don’t quite get to release. And one more thing — I don’t know about your experience of childbirth, but I’m getting something in the area of your womb space. Was there pain or intensity there, either during or after your pregnancies?
Anne
Both births were very fast and natural — which sounds like it should be easy, but the speed made them quite intense. The first birth in particular: it went so quickly that there was some tearing, and the nurse treating me afterwards was quite inexperienced. Honestly, the recovery was more painful than the birth itself.
Mia
That tracks with what I’m feeling. There’s something stored there — not something that requires deep trauma work, but energy that may simply need to be seen and acknowledged. What I’d invite is to tune into that space, and ask what it still needs. Because in that moment after your first birth — that incredible, fast, overwhelming experience — what was most needed was probably tenderness and support. And perhaps the body is still holding a little of that.
And this is important for anyone listening: when something surfaces like this, it doesn’t mean we need to rush into deep healing work. Most of the time, things just need to be seen. Acknowledged. And when the body feels safe, it can let go naturally.
But the key word is safe. When we are constantly in doing mode, in fight-or-flight, our nervous system can’t regulate itself. It can’t release. That’s the cycle so many high-achieving women are caught in — always keeping it together, always in motion, no space for the body to speak. And the body has so much it wants to say.
Anne
This is actually the third time someone has pointed to that area of my body. After a previous podcast recording, another guest said something very similar. I’m starting to think the universe is being pretty persistent.
It’s fascinating to me, as someone whose default is very much in my head, that three different people — none of whom know me well — have landed in the same place. That’s not something I can just dismiss. And I think it’s part of why I keep wanting to have these conversations on the podcast. Something is there, and it’s worth paying attention to.
Anything else you want to share before we wrap up?
Mia
Just this: I hope this conversation activates anyone listening to begin reconnecting with their body. And I want to say clearly — nothing is wrong with your body. Whatever stage you’re at, however many ailments or challenges you’re navigating, your body is not failing you. It is communicating. It is doing its work, always — even when it feels inconvenient.
Your body is your powerhouse. It is your vessel for doing the beautiful things in this world. And it is an oracle — it holds all the wisdom you need. You just need to learn to access it and remember it.
Anne
That’s beautiful. Where can people find you and connect with you?
Mia
You can find me on Instagram at @mia_dins — M-I-A underscore D-I-N-S. My website is luna-mia.org, where you can find more about my work and how to work with me. And I also host my own podcast called Dins Talk, which you’re very welcome to explore.
