The Power of Rhythms
This is a practice that has made a significant impact on my own life in recent months.
In the book “The Power of Full Engagement,” I discovered the concept of natural rhythms that guide our energy levels.
Our bodies follow ultradian rhythms, which are cycles lasting about 90 to 120 minutes.
At this point, our bodies naturally crave a brief period of rest and recovery.
Ignoring these cycles can trigger our stress response, leading to accumulated toxins over time.
These recovery periods are essential for creativity and intimate connection.
Without them, life can become an endless rush of activity, leaving little room for moments of genuine being.
So, I encourage you to view time as an opportunity to make conscious choices about how you spend it.
Try working in 90-minute focused sprints, followed by a 15-minute break.
Life is a canvas, and you are the artist.
Let’s talk about something that often gets pushed aside in the whirlwind of adult responsibilities: creativity.
You might be thinking, “I’ve got real adult responsibilities; I don’t have time for art or creativity.”
But here’s the thing – creativity is not just about art; it’s about injecting a dose of positivity into your life.
In the midst of busy schedules and demanding duties, it’s easy to forget how much control we actually have over our lives.
If the things in our lives aren’t bringing us joy and happiness, remember that we have the power to choose change.
This isn’t just for our benefit, but for the well-being of everyone around us.
Whether it’s infusing passion into your job, nurturing your relationships, or simply finding more joy in everyday moments, creativity is your ally.
It’s about starting with small steps and allowing those ripples of positivity to spread through your life.
So, this week, I encourage you to carve out a little time for something that truly sparks your creativity.
It might be a craft, a hobby, or even just finding a new approach to a familiar task.
Let’s remember that in embracing creativity, we’re not just going through the motions; we’re living with purpose.
The one entrepreneurial trait that stands out
One fundamental quality that stands out in entrepreneurs is determination.
This determination is characterised by traits such as persuasion, leadership, accountability, and single-minded focus.
What’s fascinating is that studies have shown that the determination of entrepreneurs is markedly higher than that of non-entrepreneurs.
Now, why is this relevant to us?
Because determination isn’t just about building a business empire.
It’s about building the life you desire.
It’s about leading yourself toward your goals, persuading yourself to stay on track, being accountable for your choices, and maintaining a laser-like focus on what truly matters.
So, this week, I encourage you to channel your inner entrepreneur, whether you run a business or not.
Determination isn’t just for entrepreneurs; it’s for dreamers and doers alike.
