The 4 Essential Time Blocks You Need

In the quest for a more serene and productive life, I’m delighted to share my weekly letter touching on three key areas: productivity and time management tools, mindset, and creativity.

Explore new concepts, tips, and ideas to enhance your peaceful and productive journey.

4 Essential Time Blocks

Divide your week and organise your schedule around 4 essential time blocks:

Focus Blocks

90 minute

Use when you’re especially creative, inspired, and able to do high-level work that requires focus.

Social Blocks

90 minute

Use when you’re primed and energetically in the right space to meet other people.

Admin Blocks

30-60 min

Use when you’re not in the zone to do the work that requires full focus but there’s still other types of work you can do effectively.

Recovery Blocks

Use for activities that recharge you, such as exercise, meditation, self-care, and intentional nothingness.

Rethinking the Hard Work Myth

Society often praises hard work as the key to success, but overworking without considering other factors can lead to burnout and an unfulfilling family life. The hustle culture may impress your boss and fill your bank account, but it can leave you feeling drained and dissatisfied.

Instead of pushing through relentlessly, focus on energy management. Prioritise tasks that bring joy and fulfillment, and don’t hesitate to delegate or outsource non-essential responsibilities.

Peak productivity is the art of combining doing and being.

I learned this a few months ago in a powerful mastermind group and have applied this ever since.

The Doingleft brain, proactive, rational, and analytical drives efficient execution.

The Being – right brain, receptive, reflective nature, intuition, and empathy adds depth and creativity to our work.

The synergy between these aspects empowers us to not only get things done but also infuse them with authenticity, and a touch of humanity.

Superheroes igniting creativity

My 4 years old has been into Avengers for ages. It’s been quite an obsession. First it was Hulk and he’d wear his hulk clothes every day making it extremely difficult to get it washed 🥴 Then it was Spiderman. Up until now he only ever wears his Spiderman socks, no other options accepted.

You may be able to relate to your child impersonating a superhero, playing with superhero figurines and fighting the villain. It sparkes their creativity.

Superheroes often embody qualities like courage, resilience, and the determination to make the world a better place.

Today I’d like to encourage you to explore a thought-provoking prompt, asking:

“If you could choose a superhero or a famous person, who would you like to be?” and “What powers would you like to have?” or “If you had the power to change things, what would you like to be different?”

Superheroes have a magical way of igniting creativity in children. Give yourself permission to receive this magic as well.
