As that song is 5 minutes long, embrace the 5-Minute Rule!

And commit to tackling a task for just five minutes. By taking that initial step, you disrupt procrastination and often find yourself immersed in the flow, effortlessly moving forward.
So, when the procrastination bug bites, hit play on your favorite (long) tune, and dive into the task at hand. Before you know it, those five minutes will have flown by, leaving you with a sense of accomplishment and momentum to carry you through the rest of your day.
Leverage Collaboration for Productivity
This week, I had a call with someone who does something quite similar. I was excited to meet someone with quite a few shared experiences. While chatting on Zoom, she mentioned she teaches the program I use for my VA agency to manage tasks. I had been considering changing the system because I felt I had outgrown it, but I was reluctant because I like the system that I have. She shared a few tips for me to check in that system, which will help me to grow what I’ve got instead of going for something new.
It’s these kind of things that collaboration brings. We can leverage the diverse knowledge and skills of others, leading to more innovative solutions and faster problem-solving.
I’ve also had countless collaborative chats that have enhanced creativity through an exchange of ideas and perspectives.
So, I’d like to invite you this week to think of at least one person whom you can reach out to and brainstorm ideas with, challenge assumptions with, or explore new possibilities with.
Word Association Brainstorming for Fresh Insights
A Word Association Brainstorm session is a creative tool that helps unlock one’s creative potential. Select a random word or phrase that resonates with your current project or goal.
As I’m currently restructuring my service offerings, I did this for the word “Launch.”
I took a few minutes of uninhibited brainstorming, jotting down ideas, concepts, or solutions associated with that word. From “Introduction” to “Debut,” “Invitation”, to “Unveil,” let your mind roam freely, exploring diverse perspectives and fresh insights.
This activity helps you think in new ways and be more creative, leading to fresh ideas and new ways of doing things.
