Process Goals over Outcome Goals
It’s the time of the year where we get bombarded with messages around goal setting. While I love goal setting, it can also be confusing.
In our pursuit of success, it’s easy to fixate on the outcome. However, let’s shift our focus to what truly propels us forward—process goals (aka baby steps). Instead of solely measuring success by end results, emphasise the importance of consistent, daily actions. These are the building blocks that lead to significant accomplishments over time.
Process goals foster sustainable progress. They shift the emphasis from the end destination to the journey itself, promoting a mindset of continuous improvement. As you achieve each process goal, you’re not only moving closer to your ultimate objective, remaining flexible and adaptable when life throws its famous curveballs, and also evolving into a more empowered version of yourself.
The journey toward success is a series of steps, not a giant leap. By concentrating on process goals, you’ll find joy in every small achievement. These moments of celebration not only boost your motivation but also contribute to a positive and fulfilling experience.
Turning Obstacles into Opportunities
As I’ve been talking to many entrepreneurs over the past few months, I’ve been seeing a red thread. Those women who’ve inspired me in 2023 have shifted their perspective on challenges—they are not roadblocks but opportunities for growth.
They’ve understood that resilience is your steadfast companion on the journey of life.
So while you reflect on the past 12 months, I invite you to think of a challenging situation that tested you in 2023. Identify the qualities within you that helped you persevere. Now, think how you can build those strengths in the coming month. Gratefully acknowledge the obstacles of your past—they have sculpted you into the resilient, capable person you are today.
A Dreamy 2024
Last week I listened in a conversation about how to decide on which of many projects to focus on. As someone who’s multi-passionate and creative I could fully relate.
In 2024, creativity will continue to be an important element for me in the pursuit of a balanced and fulfilling life.
Like every year, I will be crafting my vision board.
Are you a vision board kind of gal?
For me a vision board is a cherished creative practice that allows us to visually manifest our dreams and aspirations.
Even if you don’t create a vision board, I’d like to invite you to consider this question:
“If time wasn’t an object, what could I consider giving myself ‘permission’ to do more of?”
Let this question nudge you toward desires and dreams for 2024.
