How to Stay Productive over the Holiday Season

Welcome to this Special Festive Edition!

Let’s dive into ways to craft your stress-free Christmas. This week I’ll talk about the importance of planning ahead, our guiding feelings, and ideas to create space for what truly matters – a festive season brimming with joy, relaxation, and cherished moments.

Your Personal Christmas Roadmap

Creating your stress-free Christmas roadmap is a breeze! Begin by reflecting on the core feeling you want this holiday season – whether it’s relaxation, joy, or any other cherished emotion. Write it boldly at the top of your December calendar.

Next, brain dump all existing commitments, from work deadlines to family activities. Sprinkle in the festive essentials, keeping your guiding feeling in mind.

Remember, it’s not just about what to do but also what brings you genuine holiday joy. Once filled, share your personalized roadmap with your family, align expectations, and ensure a harmonious celebration. With a bit of planning and a touch of festive magic, you’ve crafted a holiday season that allows you to truly savor the moments that matter most!

How to Stay Productive over the Holiday Season

Unwrapping Joy

I’m on a mission to redefine what we think it takes to be productive. My natural disposition is to take on more, do more and do it faster. This is pretty much what society tells us is the definition of productivity – relentless output and relentless speed

But this is exactly what takes away the joy of the special holiday season we’re entering!

This season, let’s redefine what it means to be productive and set new and attainable expectations.

How about you try on the following?

Embracing Life’s Nuances: Reject the all-or-nothing mindset. Each day is a fresh opportunity. It’s about asking, “What do I need today?”

Harmony in Rhythm: Acknowledge that every day is different. In a world fixated on speed and quantity, shift the focus to personal definitions of success and fulfillment.

Beyond Numbers: It’s not just about chasing productivity metrics but living the best life. Productivity extends beyond output; it’s about creating space for joy, and meaningful connections.

Balanced Input and Output: Productivity is not only output but also cultivating a life with space and ease.

Elevating What Matters: Rather than conforming to societal pressures and other people’s expectations, reflect on your individual definition of success. Each element of life, from relationships to personal well-being, contributes to an energised and fulfilling existence.

Stop - Simplify - Savour

As we step into the festive season, it’s the perfect time to infuse creativity into our approach to productivity.

This year has been a rocky one (not only for me, I know!) and as we’re nearing 2024, it’s become crystal clear to me that I will continue to focus what I do on increased profits (money, time & energy) and peace through simplifying your business and life.

I’d like to invite you, to access your creativity and contemplate what you can stop, simplify and savour this Christmas Season

Stop: Consider what tasks you can stop doing, either by outsourcing them or swapping tasks with a friend (e.g. offer to wrap presents in return for baked goods – think of what you do not enjoy or do less well but a friend could appreciate and suggest to swap). Release the pressure of doing it all alone, and embrace the shared joy of collaboration.

Simplify: What can you batch (e.g. festive baking), not post on social media to avoid any need to do it picture perfect and thus, do things less perfect and rather be fully present.

Savour: Define what you hold sacred this Christmas – for me that’s “feeling relaxed”

I hope this week’s Peaceful Productivity LETTER helps you find new, more efficient ways to navigate the demands of the season.
