Sandy is a former elementary school teacher turned life and business coach. She runs her coaching business full time supporting women who are in the beginning phases of business in strategy and mindset to set them up for business that’s sustainable, fun, and makes them money doing what they love! When she’s not coaching, you can find her chasing after her two boys, paddle boarding in the sunshine, and teaching exercise classes.
In this conversation, we explored the importance of aligning our work with our values, creating routines that nourish our well-being, and embracing moments of stillness amidst our busy lives.
5 Mindset Shifts That Will Fasttrack Your Business
FROM
“Everybody else seems to have it figured out… Something must be wrong with me because I can’t seem to figure this out.”
SHIFT TO
“Building a business is like planting a garden; it requires time, patience, and consistent effort. Just as a seed doesn’t sprout into a flourishing plant overnight, the fruits of our labour in business take time to manifest. Instead of feeling discouraged by the lack of immediate results, I will trust the process and focus on nurturing the seeds I’ve planted, knowing that with time and care, they will grow into the thriving business I envision.”
FROM
“I have to audition and put on a show to get people to work with me. I need to be someone else to succeed.”
SHIFT TO
“Instead of feeling like I need to audition or be someone I’m not, I can approach my business with the same ease and authenticity as when I’m FaceTiming my best friend. My unique self is exactly what my ideal clients need. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to present my offer—it’s about being genuine and trusting that who I am naturally is enough to attract the right people to my business.”
FROM
“I get so nervous before sales calls because I’m so attached to the outcome. If I don’t close the sale or get the client, it means I’m a bad person, a bad coach, and I’ll never succeed. No one will ever pay me to work with them.”
SHIFT TO
“I can release my attachment to the outcome of any sales call or business interaction. The result of a call doesn’t define my worth as a person or a coach. Whether or not a client chooses to work with me, it doesn’t change who I am or my potential for success. I will approach each call with confidence, knowing that I don’t need to take anything personally—every interaction is an opportunity, not a judgment of my value.”
FROM
“I constantly worry that there aren’t enough clients out there for me. I feel like I’m always running out of time, opportunities, and resources, which leaves me feeling anxious and stuck.”
SHIFT TO
“I choose to embrace an abundance mindset, recognizing that there is plenty of time, clients, and opportunities available to me. By focusing on thoughts of abundance and possibility, I can attract the success I seek. My reality is a reflection of my thoughts, and I have the power to change my results by shifting my mindset. Today, I will pay attention to my thoughts and consciously choose those that support growth, abundance, and positivity.”
FROM
“My worth is measured by how productive I am. If I’m not constantly busy or achieving, I feel like I’m not valuable or doing enough.”
SHIFT TO
“My value is inherent and not tied to my level of productivity. I am enough simply as I am, and I trust that the work I’m doing will flourish in time. When I feel like it’s not working, I will seek out evidence of progress, celebrate small wins, and trust the process. By showing up authentically and releasing the need to control every outcome, I create space for growth and the beautiful legacy I’m building.”
