Ritualise for Peaceful Productivity
I met Kaitlyn in a community where we both taught workshops, and I loved her take on marketing. Kaitlyn helps entrepreneurs amplify their message with authenticity, joy and sustainability. And when she spoke about rituals for “getting into creative flow”, I wanted to bring this to you.
I personally love rituals for many reasons. One is that they give us a sense of stability and predictability, especially in uncertain or challenging times.
Make Your Everyday Place Your Happy Place
Dreaming of that picturesque house by the lake or the tranquil farm in the woods? It’s a beautiful dream, but don’t let it become an anchor to your happiness that’s always just out of reach.
Ever caught yourself saying “Maybe when I retire…”? Many are waiting for retirement to enjoy life fully. But life is uncertain, and we only have one shot at it.
So why wait?
Instead, consider making your everyday place your happy place. Incorporate elements of your dream life into your current reality.
Ask yourself tough questions: What do I truly want? What am I putting off? What choices do I need to make to bring more joy into my life now?
Embrace the everyday joys, intentionally choose happiness now!
In my own life, we’re currently undergoing renovations and extending our home. It’s never the perfect time, but with our kids growing up fast, we feel it’s essential to create a cozy and spacious family home that we can enjoy every day.
Be Kind
Embarking on something new can be daunting, and it’s easy to be hard on yourself when things don’t go as planned. But remember, every creator, no matter how experienced, has their fair share of failures. In fact, most artists & creators produce far more mediocre work than masterpieces—it’s all part of the process.
So, when your latest project falls flat or doesn’t quite meet your expectations, be kind to yourself. Recognise that setbacks are a natural part of the creative journey.
Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, focus on what you’ve learned and how you can use that knowledge to grow and improve.
After all, it’s often through our failures that we discover our greatest successes.
